Our congratulations to Assemblywoman, now Senator Loni Hancock for her successful run on election day for termed out Senator Don Perata's seat from Oakland. You may recall that she was one of the 6 legislators with a conscience, who refused to vote for the passage of SB899 despite the governor's intimidation and threats back in 2004. It's always good for injured workers to have a good friend in the Legislature.

The other five that also held their own and have since been termed out are Senators Richard Alarcon, Joe Dunn & Martha Escutia and Assemblywomen Jackie Goldberg and Hannah Beth Jackson.
